5/11/2018 - 124 miles, Kanab - Zion National Park Loop (Utah)

King bed, AC, our own room. Slept good our first night in Kanab.
Alarm is pre-set for 6 am and that takes the guess work out of waking up.
Start the day with another shower and WASH my hair.
There are so many people here to tour the national parks, Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce.
We visit with a couple from Florida making a loop the opposite direction of ours.  Then an older photographer who promises not to bring a new wife back to Texas. Gary explains he was born in Texas and the gentleman says then  he is still a Texas native son.
Ron and Laura join us and the yogurt machine gets a work out from Gary and Ron.
We talk it over and decide to stay a 3rd night in Kanab. We will head west toward Nevada on Sunday.
The ride to Zion is pleasantly cool and we use our park passes to enter.
We park our bikes and catch the bus. A tiny girl sits next to me. She has a bright blue cap with a mermaid on it. These people were riding those pretty motorcycles. The dad says. Do you remember the colors. They were orange and blue she says. She liked them very much.
There are TONS of people, speaking every language. We ride to the last stop and hike a portion of the Virgin River Trail. I am going to have National Park Neck from looking up the vertical canyon walls.
The zones change as we get closer to the slot canyon that holds the Virgin River. Wild flowers, silty waters, wild life...and people.
Laura waits for us at the interpretation center. We have lunch (good timing on the line Gary) then catch the bus back to the Museum and eventually our bikes.
The short film at the museum almost becomes a nap.
Never heard Ron say Wow so many times.
On the ride out of beautiful Zion we stop for photos of an old windmill, a large herd of buffalo and a 56 Chevy body on a 4WD chassis.  We do not get a hand made pie, ho-made at Mt. Carmel.
We join Ron and Laura at the Barbecue joint, Ironhorse, and the country singer is very good and entertaining.  After a delicious Q for 2 dinner started with a calamity Jane martini, I am pooped and ready to get back to our room.
KANAB IMPRESSIONS
A short gal walks across the parking lot, away from me.  She is wearing tight black jeans and low top converse. A big cell phone sticks our of her hip pocket.  Her bottle dyed morning hair blows out from a visor ed cap she has pulled on tightly.
A few moments later another young gal walks across the path of the first. Her clothes are Morman plain.
